I’ve long admired the way Jim Riswold looks at the world. A self-described “fake artist,” Riswold first worked as creative director at the Wieden+Kennedy in Portland.
He is a legend. He had his hand in some of the agency’s most iconic and best work for Nike. In 2000, however, he was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia,
and left advertising to devote his life to art. His twisted, fun and child-like lens on society features objects and characters out of step. A bit mischievous, thought-provoking and entertaining works of art.
Read his Esquire article here. (http://adjix.com/4fwm) - highly recommended. His personality comes shining through. Love his Mao Home & Garden series.
His website is wonderful beyond words...http://www.jimriswold.com. Check out Cowboys & Indians too. Don’t forget to turn on the Riswold Amalgamated jingle. Brilliance.
